Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday ( Executive Order GA-34) that effective March 10, he has rescinded the statewide mask mandate but continues to strongly encourage individuals to wear face coverings over the nose and mouth wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing.

The new order does not prevent businesses or other establishments from requiring employees or customers to follow additional hygiene measures, including the wearing of a face covering.

Accordingly, Dr. Mock and TMSA staff are reaffirming our commitment to current masking and PPE guidelines. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines and require employees, physicians , patients when healthcare personnel are in the room, and visitors to wear a mask when in our office even if vaccinated. PPE recommendations have not changed. Masks, when combined with handwashing and maintaining safe distance, have been proven to be effective at limiting the spread of Covid -19. Our guidelines remain the same to protect our patients and staff, while providing a safe environment for all. TMSA also is continuing to screen each person entering care facilities as well as limiting visitors for the same reasons.

It is vital that we continue to wear masks to protect our community and each other. Dr. Mock continues to monitor evolving guidelines and will provide updated guidance as needed.

Sanitation Measures

We have rearranged our daily schedule to accommodate increased sanitization of the common area touch points with CDC recommended cleaning agents. This includes touch points such as elevator cabs, restrooms, railings – including stairwells, seating areas, directories, with the exception of tenant door handles.

These areas are all sanitized throughout the morning, and then again throughout the afternoon. The night crew is sanitizing the interior areas of the suite using the same cleaning agents recommended by the CDC as well.

Guests

NOTE: At this time, only one guest may accompany patients to their scheduled appt.
Ventilation

We never shut down ventilation or other building systems such as exhaust fans. The building systems run 24/7, and the CDC guidelines are only relative to reopening post shutdown or reduced use.

Therefore, our normal operations comply with the CDC standards for ventilation. We have also eliminated public fountains from use as per CDC guidelines.
